Jason Wahler is a well-known TV personality, host, actor, advocate, and philanthropist who has appeared on popular shows like MTV’s Laguna Beach, The Hills, Celebrity Rap Superstar, and The Hills: New Beginnings. After publicly battling addiction for years, he appeared on Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab and began a new life in recovery. Since then, Jason has dedicated his life to raising awareness about substance abuse and mental health, aiming to change the public's negative perception of these issues.
In 2014, the E! Network produced a True Hollywood Story episode featuring Jason's remarkable transformation, showcasing his dedication to recovery and his mission as a recovery advocate. In 2017, he received the esteemed Faces & Voices "Voice of Recovery Award" in Washington, D.C., honoring his efforts to make a difference within the recovery community. In 2024, he received the Hope Award from the Refuge Center, given to individuals who use their platform to advance the conversation around mental health. He was also the proud recipient of Franklin Tomorrow’s 2024 Exemplary Community Volunteer Spirit Award, which recognizes individuals for their impactful community work.
In 2021, Jason facilitated over $1 million in treatment scholarships through his work as the marketing director for The Red Songbird Foundation.
With the relaunch of The Hills: New Beginnings, Jason and his wife, Ashley, decided to create a platform to support people who feel trapped in addiction, co-dependency, and mental health challenges. Their successful YouTube show, THE JAWS DIARIES, offers a front-seat chronicle of how the couple has addressed these issues while raising a young family. The show provides insights, information, and tools for successfully navigating these challenges.
Today, Jason continues to work closely with media outlets, celebrities, young adults, schools, law enforcement, churches, and athletes to promote addiction education and prevention. He is a guest speaker, spokesperson, and recovery advocate, openly sharing his story to provide education, inspiration, and hope for those who are still struggling. He also serves on the board of Cure Addiction Now, is the Director of Dr. Amen’s Change Your Brain Foundation, a Recovery Advocate with Alyst Health, and an ambassador for Sobrsafe, the first-ever transdermal alcohol monitoring detection band.
Jason uses his personal experience and public presence to inspire people facing substance abuse and mental health challenges to seek help. He has partnered with WPC and co-founded the YANA Project, which provides video interviews, resources, and hope through powerful guest speakers and interviews to combat substance use disorders and mental health stigma. His work within the recovery community has profoundly impacted his life and allowed him to be a resource for thousands of individuals seeking help but uncertain where to start.
